Ferro chrome is one of the main agents in ferro alloys industries. Ferro chrome has a high resistance properties of corrosion, thermal, wear, fatigue and oxidation that is used in stainless steel industries.
There are three types of ferro chrome:
1- Low carbon (C=%0.03-%0.15)
Low carbon ferro chrome has corrosion and oxidation resistance properties and is used in stainless steel industries.
2- Medium carbon (C=up to 4%)
3- High carbon (C=6%-8%)
High carbon ferro chrome has high hardness, strength and wear resistant properties that is used in ball bearing and tools productions.
LC FeCr is commonly used as a raw material in stainless steel production due to its ability to impart corrosion resistance, toughness, and hardness to the final product. It also improves the high-temperature oxidation resistance of stainless steel.
In addition to its use in stainless steel production, LC FeCr has applications in other industries as well. For example, it can be used in the production of special steels, where its low carbon content is desirable. It is also used in welding electrodes, where it acts as a deoxidizer and enhances the properties of the weld.
Overall, low carbon ferrochrome is a valuable alloy in the steel industry due to its unique properties and versatility in various industrial applications.
